Today I slept in super late, but hey, why not? Then I had a lovely green smoothie for breakfast (yes I’m obsessed) and did some yoga. Ben and I decided to make the most of the beautiful day and took the bus to Manly. I didn’t even know this but there was yet another market taking place (I present to you the Northern Beaches: Land of unlimited markets..) and of course I had to stop and have a look around. It was really small, only a couple of stands selling artworks/ home decorations, jewelry and clothes and I didn’t buy anything.
After we went for a walk towards the Manly Business College which is located in a beautiful old building that kind of looks like a castle or church and had a look around since I hadn’t been there before (seriously, that’s why I’m doing this whole Carpe Diem thingy, because I’ve been living here for about two years now and there are still so many things that I haven’t seen or done).
Our plan was to head to the Sydney Harbour National Park, but the weather started to get pretty bad so we headed back to the Corso where we bought some Loving Earth chocolate. We got the flavors ‘raw carob bar’ and ‘coconut mylk chocolate’. Ben had the carob bar and really liked it, but funnily I thought it was disgusting! Well, tastes differ! I however absolutely loved the coconut mylk chocolate, which in my opinion tasted exactly like dairy milk chocolate. I usually find these healthy vegan chocolates a bit too fatty and absolutely hate it if they have heaps of coconut oil in them, but man, this one was amazing.
Since it started raining pretty heavily we took the bus home and just relaxed for a bit. Later that night we went out for dinner to a little cozy Indian restaurant in Freshy which we hadn’t been to before (You see a theme here? Trying new things and stuff!). I totally adore Indian food and this restaurant did not disappoint! I ordered the Punjabi Baingan, an eggplant curry with onion masala sauce, potatoes, tomatoes and fresh coriander. It was spot on!
Today wasn’t the most exciting day, but hey, I went to places I hadn’t been to before and found an awesome new restaurant! I’m definitely an advocate of appreciating the little things! And having a relaxing, chilled out day every now and then isn’t too bad either!
