Firstly, happy Easter everyone! I’m personally not religious, but I got nothing against any sort of public holiday that brings the family together and makes people show each other appreciation. Since the weather is finally good again (I know I’m totally spoilt in the weather department, its raining for like three days and I act as if it were three months), so Ben and I headed to the French Forrest organic farmers market in the morning (after having a super yummy green smoothie for breakfast). We usually go to this market every Sunday, it’s like your little tradition. The have heaps of awesome organic fruit, hippie/boho clothing, jewelry and of course lots of food/ drink stands! Out of all the markets on the Northern Beaches this is probably my favorite, although I have to say that the one at Palm Beach is pretty cool too, it’s just a bit far away for us. And there are a lot of vegan options, so whats not to like!
Today I had a cane juice, pineapple and mint frappe which was absolutely amazing and so refreshing! I also bought some mangoes on which I got a pretty good deal (six for $10) and some really cheap passionfruit (fourteen for $5!!). What a bargain! Ben and I also went halves in a vegan Nutella by Cream Fork (the ingredients are literally only roasted organic hazelnuts, coconut sugar, organic raw cacao, organic deodorized coconut oil and Himalayan pink salt) and it tastes incredible (actually like Nutella!). They also offer a variety of vegan cakes and other nut butters which I also tried and loved!
Lastly I had a lovely chat with Lisa and Matt from the ‘Herbisaurus’ stand who sell all sorts of wonderful savory meals, all vegan! They kindly gifted me one of their sausage rolls which I just had for dinner with some Vietnamese salad and it was amazing! Seriously, vegan people are just so friendly and kind (at least I haven’t met any grumpy ones so far!). Spread the vegan love everybody!
After the market Ben and I went over to his mum’s place where we met up with his family. His mum was so sweet and gave me vegan chocolate as an Easter present! I was actually surprised at how good it tasted, but a bit too sweet for my taste. I’m a total sucker for family get togethers so naturally I had a lovely time.
Life is seriously good guys!
