Another day, another adventure! Welcome to the second day of the Carpe Diem Project, a challenge I came up with for myself to do something special everyday for twenty-five days. Want to know why? Have a look at my blog post explaining it all here.
This morning I woke up early to the sound of rain (seriously what is up with you Sydney? Where is the beach weather!?) and felt super productive so I spent some time on my blog, I cleaned the kitchen and living room and did some yoga. Then I went back to bed (because this weather is definitely classified as cuddle weather), brainstormed for todays activities and quickly came up with the idea to go indoor rock climbing. When I was younger, about twelve or so, I was actually quite good at rock climbing since my dad is a sports freak and always did active things with me out in nature, I even slept in an igloo (which he built) on top of a mountain once, but that’s a whole different story.
So later that day Ben (the boyfriend) and I were on our way to the rock climbing center closest to us. After signing up I now am a proud owner of a Northern Beaches Rock House membership card.
Admittedly I was struggling with the first few walls and was already getting frustrated, but at one point I got back into routine and had the best time! After climbing several walls we also did some free climbing in the boulder area. We stayed for about two hours and I could have easily stayed longer, but Ben had to go back home to get ready for work. One thing is for sure though, I will be coming back! Rock climbing is such a fun way to exercise and get moving! If you have a rock climbing center near you and never tried it, I suggest you do! It’s a great thing to do on a rainy day like this one! We paid $39 for the two of us, which isn’t cheap but definitely worth it! Plus you can stay as long as you want! So the only question that you should be asking yourself is: ‘What’s stopping me?’.
